Michael T. Freeman, Esquire
Michael T. Freeman is the Managing Attorney for Samuel I. White, P.C., over a number of departments, including the Bankruptcy practice area, the Information Technology department and for overall Process Management. His practice areas include bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, loss mitigation, commercial and civil litigation, foreclosures, landlord/tenant, evictions, title resolution and debt collection. His current geographical coverage focuses on representation of lenders and creditors in the states of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and the District of Columbia, appearing in Bankruptcy Court as well as at the state level. He frequently handles matters involving secured debts, creditor’s rights litigation, automobile litigation and unsecured creditor work in both state and bankruptcy court. His commercial litigation focuses on resolution of title issues and defects, deficiency actions, debt collection, foreclosure-related litigation and other matters involving real property. He is a frequent lecturer on topics including bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, real estate, loss mitigation and mortgage modifications.
Mr. Freeman received his J.D. from T.C. Williams School of Law, University of Richmond, in 2003. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Elon College (now Elon University) in 2000. He is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, the District of Columbia and North Carolina.
Mr. Freeman is a member of the Virginia Bar Association, City of Richmond Bankruptcy Bar Section, Northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, Virginia Creditors Bar Association and the Tidewater Bankruptcy Bar association. He also serves on the Richmond Bankruptcy Bar Liaison Committee for the Richmond Division and is the current Chair of the Bankruptcy Committee for the Richmond Bankruptcy Bar Association.
Emmanuel D. Voces, Esquire
Emmanuel represents national mortgage servicers and lenders in matters related to consumer finance, title insurance, real estate and mortgage banking law. He is also an experienced litigator in the areas of foreclosure, evictions and creditor defense, and he has handled complex commercial litigation involving residential and commercial foreclosures since 1997. He is a frequent speaker at national seminars for the mortgage banking industry and he conducts training seminars onsite at client offices nationwide. Emmanuel is the past chair of the litigation department and has served as the firm-wide Managing Attorney of SIWPC since 2008.
He received his J.D. from T.C. Williams School of Law, University of Richmond. He received his B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. He is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and in the state of West Virginia. He is admitted to the state bar of Virginia, the U.S. Federal District Court, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the state and federal courts of West Virginia.
